The Wyuna Fund was established to assist Youth and Junior sailors to compete at National and international level. the fund is named after Olympian John Cuneo’s Gold Medal-winning Dragon-class yacht “Wyuna”.

Winning over 60 championships  in eight different classes during his sailing career, John Cuneo was inducted to the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 1986, the Queensland Sport Hall of Fame in 2009, and the Australian Sailing Hall of Fame.

Wyuna Sailors epitomise fundamental values of the sport – such as good sportsmanship – and they are required at all times to be positive role models both on and off the water. The fund thus supports engagement with the greater sailing community, nationally and internationally, as much as facilitating improved sports performance.
