How to Get Involved

The Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron aims to assist and facilitate opportunities for aspiring crew and skippers.

At RQYS there are three main pathways to get involved!

Gain Experience and knowledge by signing up for one of the Sailing Academy courses.
Check out or list yourself on the Boats looking for Crew / Crew looking for boats registers.
Become a valued member of the RQYS Volunteer Team, our volunteers assist in variety of on water roles for all racing at RQYS.

Boats Looking For Crew

RQYS has a number of skippers looking for crew on both a permanent and casual bases.
Skippers also post there interest in finding crew on the “Skippers Looking for Crew” page.

Crew Looking For Boats

List your interest for crewing roles. We recommend having a look at the “Boats Looking For Crew” Page first.

Learn to Sail

The RQYS Sailing Academy offers Nationally recognized courses for Keelboat, Dinghy & Board learn-to-sail and development programs. Running 6 days a week, the Sailing Academy has a variety of different options to suit you! Find out more HERE!
