1 Vehicle stickers are issued to Junior Members upon presentation of a valid driver's licence.

2 A parent or guardian must activate the Direct Debit Authority on behalf of a Junior Member.

3 Persons aged 16–18 are permitted to use the gym with written consent from a parent or guardian.

4 Crew and Social Members have access to Canaipa provided they are accompanied by a Full Member (or equivalent) at all times.

Admission Process

Choose the right membership type

Membership is determined by your age, residential address, boat ownership, and the services you need. If you're unsure which type suits you, contact our Membership Team — we're happy to talk it through.

Complete the membership application form

Fill in the online application form and a member of our team will be in touch to finalise your details and arrange payment. Hard copies are also available from Reception.

Arrange your referees

Two current financial RQYS members are required to propose and second your nomination. If you don't know anyone at the club, we can arrange a short meeting with a Membership Committee member — approximately 15 minutes. Provisional membership is offered for your first 12 months in this case. A temporary access pass will be issued while your application is being processed so you can access the Squadron straight away.

Formal approval

Depending on your application date, approval can take up to 6–8 weeks. Your application will go to the Membership Committee (meeting on the 1st Thursday of each month), then to the General Committee for final approval (meeting on the last Thursday of each month). You'll be notified of your acceptance and invited to a New Members Welcome evening.
