The Past Commodores’ Cup “PCC” was introduced in 2013 and follows on with the long standing traditions of Myora and Goodwill Cup and other Squadron activities. This simplified event is focused around a morning affair in the predominantly sheltered waters of Waterloo Bay and circumnavigates the scenic islands of Green and St Helena over approximately a 12nm course, utilising either traditional methods of navigation or GPS aboard either a conventional power boat or sailing boat under power. The gorgeous back drop of the ever expanding Port of Brisbane and skyline makes for conversation upon returning to the Squadron.
The PCC is a friends and family activity, focusing on the ease of boating for several hours in the morning, and returning to the clubhouse pavilion for lunch and presentations overlooking Manly Harbour.
Previous events have experienced great turn outs for lunch and camaraderie, as the results are announced and trophies presented.
This is a great opportunity to join an experienced competitor, or tackle your first navigation event, and gain an understanding of log events and how to navigate with high precision.
