Past Commodores Cup Navigation Event Draws 17 Vessels for a 10nm Challenge Around Green Island

The Past Commodores Cup Navigation event was held last weekend on the 18th May in very pleasant conditions.  18 vessels entered, however on the day 17 crossed the starting line in either the GPS division or Traditional division covering a distance of 10nm. The event started on the Western side of Green island near the Lockyer Light heading North around the top end of St Helena and back down the Eastern Side of St Helena and Green Island to the finish line. The course was challenging with multiple large course alterations, GPS had 30 check point gates and Traditional had 8 gates.

The fleet then returned to RQYS and rafted up at the VIP Jetty.

We had 95 people booked for lunch and the presentation of results and trophies.

A big congratulations to Craig Sharp of Rush 2 who took home the Wal’s Corner lowest points trophy for 2024!
