Well done to all of our sailors who competed at Lake Cootharaba Sailing Club this weekend at their May Day Regatta. This event was also the 2018 QLD Raceboard State Championships, the International Techno 293 Class Association Queensland Championship, the Pacer Queensland Championship, as well the annual Jack Holt regatta.

Squadron member Mark Ward was dominant in the Raceboard Class ahead of Jacob Whitford. 14 RQYS Windsurfers took part in the event, with the Techo class seeing 7 members of the RQYouthSquad taking part, with a best result to Max Irvin placing 2nd, with Scott Luxton 3rd.

In the Pacer Queensland Championship a tough weekend saw only 3 races completed, with DNF’s costing both Rory Anderson and Harry Lamb the win despite taking all of the race wins between them.

The eventual best placed RQYS boat was Luke Milburn and Liam Millar who also placed 1st Junior at the event. Rory Anderson and Kenzie Garbin had to settle for 3rd place in the Junior event.
