Sailing into the Future: Celebrating Our Winds of Change Graduates!
Making Waves Foundation Brisbane is thrilled to celebrate the graduates of the Term 1 2025 Winds of Change program! Over the past eight weeks, four students from Brisbane Bayside State College embarked on an unforgettable sailing journey—gaining confidence, teamwork, and a passion for the open water.
Despite some weather setbacks (thanks, TC ALFRED!), their enthusiasm never wavered. Whether practicing crew roles, mastering sailing maneuvers, or even showcasing some dockside dance moves, they embraced every challenge. A special highlight was a school-based session, which not only kept the momentum going but also sparked new interest in sailing among their peers.
Teachers have reported noticeable improvements in school attendance and behavior, reinforcing the program’s positive impact beyond the water.
With this second successful round complete, our volunteers are excited to welcome the next wave of future sailors in term 3 with students from Darling Point Special School . Here’s to more adventures ahead!
