The 63rd anniversary of the Goodwill Cup Navigation event was held on the 2nd and 3rd of November in moderately challenging conditions. 34 vessels combined from both clubs took part in the navigation competition, RQYS had 22 vessels and SYC had 12 vessels. For those unaware, the Goodwill Cup navigation event is divided into two divisions, Tradition and GPS.
The event started near Myora Light, past Horseshoe Bay, down to the Pelican Banksand then east finishing near Blaksley anchorage. The fleet then continued to Canaipa for Commodores drinks ashore and dinner provided by Canaipa Catering Company.
Sunday morning the committee and volunteers cooked breakfast for approximately 110 people followed by announcement of results.
The length of both the Traditional and GPS courses was 13.13nm, GPS had 30 check point gates and Traditional had 8 gates.

The winning club is determined by calculated the top 5 vessels in GPS and top 3 vessels in Traditional from both clubs, the points are totalled, the club with the lowest score is the winner of the Goodwill Trophy.
