May 15, 2025

DATE:  14/5/2025

WIND:  SE-SSE-13-21 KNOTS

TIDE: L@16:19-0.51M

COURSE: 20BR

NUMBER OF BOATS: 31

You would think that with all of the sailing done at regattas in the past couple of weeks and the pending Property Industry Foundation on Friday, some skippers and crew might be a little weary. But no!! Even with the possible forecast of rain and thunderstorms another quality fleet turned up to sail another Wags. I just love it!

The course took the fleet all the way to the Peel Island Rec. Mark (PRM) on what was supposed to be a long and arduous beat. However the wind went south (right) and most boats laid the windward first mark. It was a long first leg as the start line was set north of Lockyer Light in an attempt to make the first leg as challenging as possible. Leaving PRM to port it was north to Hope Banks Rec. Mark on a much easier run. I’m sure all skippers and crew relaxed knowing the majority of the work was done. Another port rounding at Hope and the fleet turned for home via Lockyer Light on another quick running reach. Some awesome speeds saw the fleet home around 15:00 and happy to avoid the pending showers hanging about. Great sail!
