Great fleet, great vibe – couldn’t ask for more!

It was another stunning afternoon on our bay! A very consistent breeze, a great fleet and a great vibe certainly helped. In my opinion you couldn’t have asked for better. There was a very interesting forecast from BOM that talked about a 25 knot northerly??? It must have been for another planet. However we managed to make the best of the correct forecast and everyone had another fantastic sail.

The start line was set for a near perfect beat all the way out to the Hope Banks (RM).  I asked a few of the skippers in the bar afterwards on which way they went, once past Lockyer Light and the top ten chose the stay as right as possible and avoid the pitch that was being created by the flooding tide. Some also said that there was a bit more breeze there. A port turn at Hope and a welcome break for crew on a nice run back toward the Green Island red and onto, one of the prettiest parts of the bay, the stretch between Green and St. Helena Islands to the western cardinal. There was plenty of marine life about with sightings of dolphins and dugongs reported. Another port turn at the cardinal saw a reach home to the finish boat waiting patiently just south of the harbour entrance to record some very close finishers. Awesome!!!!!
