Wednesday Afternoon GO Sailing

August 29, 2024

WIND: N 15-20 knts

COURSE: K

NUMBER OF BOATS: 25

A fast race on a course less travelled!

The BOM prediction proved correct and this, with an incoming tide all afternoon, made for a fast race with only one beat to windward on the first leg to Green Island West Cardinal. Course K is not one regularly sailed, however the lead Mono completed the course in under 2 hours and the Multi  1 hour 7 minutes. I had a problem keeping up with the fleet watching them on the AIS on the phone, as speeds up to and some cases over 10 knots were observed. The general consensus was that an enjoyable sail was had by all!

Coming up:  Opening Day of the 2024/25 Sailing season is on Saturday 7th September!
