A Slow day, but pretty close to perfect!

A beautiful and consistent breeze greeted another fantastic fleet as they ventured onto the bay for another awesome Brissy afternoon. It was a little surprizing of its direction however. I was banking on something a little more from the south and have the start boat up the bay, which would have provided a longer beat to the first mark. Oh well!! The breeze also made the choice of course obvious. It needed to be short and Juliette Reverse provided the perfect afternoon. The start boat was set up so the first mark, being Lockyer Light, was a beat, only a little shorter than intended. However as the fleet rounded Lockyer the breeze went slightly left and made for a little more work being required to the next mark at the Green Island RM. Another port turn and up to the Green Island red before battling the last of the ebb tide between Green and St. Helena to the western cardinal and back to the finish boat just south of the harbour entrance. It was the Mono fleet this week that provided the close finishers with seconds separating the first 3. It was a slow day, but near perfect!!
