WIND: SE-ESE/ 12-15kn
TIDE: L @ 15:39
COURSE: Foxtrot Reverse
NUMBER OF BOATS: 43
It was a challenging course??? ——only if you went the wrong way!!!
The breeze did as per forecast and went left as the afternoon went on. As many boats approached their third leg, on the way out to the Hope Banks RM, those who ventured south made things very hard for themselves and turned the leg into a harder, longer beat. There were also the boats that steered north and as the breeze changed got a fantastic lift and cleared the mark ahead of the majority. A nice run to the floating red at St. Helena before a port turn saw the fleet head home back between Green and St. Helena Islands to the finish boat anchored just north of the harbour leads. All in all it was another great afternoon to be on our Bay. Fantastic company, fantastic sailing!
The ‘ruling’, or should I say ‘wording’ on 15.4 – Anchors will be revealed soon.
