Sailing Bliss: A Perfect Afternoon on the Water at the Greatest Midweek Regatta!

Those who chose to be on the water and sail in the greatest midweek regatta couldn’t have picked a better afternoon. It was truly was near perfect! A gentle but consistent nor’easter drifted across the bay (hmmmm could be a song there) and provided welcome relief from another Brissy summer afternoon. It also provided a few challenges, with the first leg, from the start boat, between the islands of Green and St. Helena and all the way to the floating red, a gentle beat. I am told that there were a couple of shifts and all skippers and crew needed to be on their toes to take any advantage they could. A starboard turn at the top mark was followed by a running reach to the Green Island RM where a photo in the bar showed up to 10 boats rounding at the same time. Good job!! As Lockyer Light was being approached, the usual compaction of the fleet occurred and everyone enjoyed sailing in close company all the way to the finish boat. Awesome!!
