Wednesday Afternoon GO Sailing

February 13, 2025

Wind: NE-8-13 knots

Tide: L@16:29M

Course: 16CR

Number of Boats: 46

Another great afternoon, another great new course and another great fleet all combining to provide an awesome sail. The new course must have been a little too new for some. Confessions from some skippers of missing a mark of the course and reports of others, not so honest, doing the same, was only one of the hot topics in the bar post-race. There really is no excuse for getting a course wrong. Between the pre-race briefing received by all via What’s App around 10am on the day of race and the 3 TV’s within the bar, I don’t understand how anyone can get it wrong. HO HUM!

The start line was set near the entrance to Aquatic Paradise and gave a short windward leg to Lockyer Light where a port pass was required. Then it was on to GERM (Green Island Rec. Mark) which should have been kept to starboard. This is where the above spoken offenders had issues-failing to observe the mark and sailed east and started on the next leg. I digress—From GERM it was a beautiful long beat all the way to the SHRM (Sand Hills Rec.Mark) before a port turn brought the fleet back to a finish line at the Green Island Western Cardinal. It was a very nice run all the way home and, as expected, close company the order of the day. Please remember and monitor CH 72!!!!!!!

Results of the Geoff Anderson Memorial Super Series after 4 of the scheduled 7 races.
