The bay was the ultimate playfield!

With all of the encouragement shown by many skippers and crew on last week’s course, it was only fitting, given the near same conditions, that we used the Peel Island Rec. Mark as the top mark again. The breeze was slightly more than forecast (10-15 knots) and there was much talk of headsail choice, however it all made for another great Wags afternoon.

The start boat was anchored about a mile SW from Green Island and nearly on a true beat to Huybers. So the first leg, which ended up going all the way to the afore mentioned mark at Peel, was a long work leg. There is plenty of water and plenty of bay to play in and all had some varying tactics to the windward mark. A port rounding saw everyone relax and possibly break open a refreshment and enjoy a run up to the Green Island Rec. Mark where another port rounding was followed by a short reach to Lockyer Light. It was fantastic to watch the fleet compress from the angle of the finish boat, which was approx. 1 mile towards the harbour and all were finished in less than 9 minutes. 25 seconds between the first 3 in the Mono’s. Very cool. Well done to all!!
