On Friday May 17 The Squadron hosted The Property Industry Foundations Charity Regatta for the 10th year. Our fleet of 44 yachts and two spectator boats took over 400 people around WAGS course FR in 15-18knts raising over $138 000 to help build Haven House, a short to mid term accommodation facility for homeless and at risk youth.

Everyone was watching the weather as a storm looked threatening, however we only received a small amount of rain with the benefit of lots of extra wind which created some close racing for the first time in a PIF regatta in years! Our guests were both thrilled and scared to see yacht racing in close quarters with a bit of breeze, however our skippers and crew did a great job in keeping everybody safe and delivering them to the excellent after party.

The Property Industry Foundation graciously thanks the Squadron, its skippers and crew, the volunteers on the start boat, the on water media crew, the sailing office for all the admin as well as the wonderful caterers who made everyone warm and well fed once ashore.

The feedback from the corporate guests has indicated the squadron put on a spectacular display of sailing and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their day with many corporates booking in their favourite skippers again for next already!

Well done again to all who participated and with the bulk of the fleet coming from our “Wags Division” special mention to our Wednesday Warriors who make this happen every year!
