THE 2ND ANNUAL
BRISBANE TO HAMILTON ISLAND YACHT RACE

6 AUGUST 2021

ROYAL QUEENSLAND YACHT SQUADRON & HAMILTON ISLAND

ABOUT THE RACE

The 2020 Brisbane to Hamilton Island Yacht Race is unfortunately cancelled due to circumstances beyond the control of the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron and Hamilton Island.

The ongoing uncertainty caused by COVID 19 and evolving state border closures has caused many interstate yachts to rethink the event for this year.

After a fast 2019 race, proving what a brilliant race track the Queensland coast is, the 2021 Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron Brisbane to Hamilton Island Yacht Race will be on August 6 and is an event to etch into the ocean racing planners now.

The Brisbane to Hamilton Island Yacht Race is one of Australia's longest tropical category 2 offshore yacht races, and will deliver competitors to the wonderful destination of Hamilton Island, in time for Whitsunday Race Weeks.

"I could not think of a better race course for multihull’s and keel boats. Warm water and I am promised the wind in the right direction and we arrive in the perfect location. What’s not to love about this race." - Gavin Brady, skipper of MOD70 Beau Geste

A WORD FROM RACE MANAGEMENT

"The Brisbane to Hamilton Island Yacht Race provides a unique opportunity to race in a warm water Coastal race to a fantastic destination. Further, the race distance provides a challenge to the sailors, and especially the Navigators.

For our Short Handed and Multihull Entrants especially, this race is the premier event open to them in this country in terms of distance, race course, and destination."
