Wednesday Afternoon GO Sailing

December 21, 2023

WIND: NE-ENE-10-20 KNOTS

TIDE: H@15.20

COURSE: LIMA

NUMBER OF BOATS: 54

The afternoon didn’t turn out quiet like expected. Firstly, there was a little more breeze than forecast, secondly there were some issues on the coarse that nobody wants. We all feel for those on Kerumba who lost their mast. A situation like this doesn’t happen every day, thankfully, however it brought out the best in fellow sailors who stood by and assisted. I must make mention of Phil and Spiky on Myora, Jeff and crew on Zero and Anton and crew on The Tribe. It truly depicted the true spirit of The Squadron and particularly the Wags family, of which I am very proud. A very well done to all concerned. I won’t mention in detail the other issue only to say everybody MUST avoid collision. (COLLLISION REGULATIONS APPLY IN WAGS).

Other than all of the above, it was a great sail. My Christmas present was for a very easy course, with next to no windward work and lots of reaching. That part worked out fine and the rest of the fleet had a great afternoon.

Merry Christmas to the WAGS Family, safe sailing over the break and bring on 2024
