Wednesday Afternoon GO Sailing

February 20, 2025

Wind: E  10-14 Knots

Course:  1B

Number of Boats: 40

There was some frantic activity to change the start boat to Myora when the Vick Frizzell couldn’t be started putting the registration desk into some disarray. With the assistance of Beryl and Margarite it was soon sorted.

A nice easterly stayed in for the duration of the race giving the fleet a good beat out to Hope Banks. On the reach up to St. Helena red with the early ebb of the tide speeds of some seen on the AIS exceeded 7.5 Knots.

It was exciting to see the battle for the lead to the finish line between Cest La Vie and Moana with the rest of the fleet some distance behind.

The entire fleet finished well in inside the race cut off time which again proves Paul’s handicaps worked out well.

The general consensus was that a good, fast sail was had by all.

Coming Up: Race 5/7 of the Geoff Anderson Memorial Super Series
