Rain Event turned WAGS to Sausages and Trivia
It was a very wet drive down to the Squadron for Nelly and I (all 60klms of it) and we were contemplating the possible outcomes for the day, we received our usual Wednesday morning phone call from our Sailing Manager, Mark Dingley. It’s a weekly call just to do a quick check on the events of the day. (I hope you people know how well you are serviced)! There was no problem with the breeze, just the forecast of this “rain event” that had been through the Fraser Coast, the Sunshine Coast and now making its way through Northern Brisbane and into the Bay on its way south. “We’ll be there by 8.30” we told Mark as much was needed to be talked about. So the amount of good, healthy discussion was surprising, for that time of the day, and it was decided to give the power to the people and we asked for feedback on the Wags WhatsApp. In the meantime we were checking beach cameras on the Sunny Coast, looking for a possible break in the rain. After 30 minutes of feedback, it was overwhelming that common sense prevailed with a 9 to 22 vote to stay dry. Thank you to those who have downloaded the Wags WhatsApp and gave instant feedback. Don’t you love technology! Also thanks to Karen and Richard for the sausage sizzle provided in the bar at lunchtime and those who attended the “Trivia Quiz”.
The Peter Beard Memorial Trophy will be postponed to another day, possibly Christmas Wags 18/12/2024. Stay Dry.
