DATE: 12/7/2017
WIND: SE-S 10-15 Knts
NUMBER OF BOATS: 39
It was fantastic to have a breeze consistent with the forecast. For the first time in months we made it out to Hope Banks on the good old course Alpha. Not much has changed out there and as per the norm, the mark always provides some form of entrainment. In a good 10 knts on the start line there were three 00.00’s, four 00.01’s and four 00.02’s. Given that it was a downhill start, with the tide, very cool! The beat out to Hope provided a bit more pressure welcomed by the fleet (after weeks of very soft wind) and the running reach home wasn’t a dead run and strong enough to maintain great speeds. Again some very close finishers. The majority of the fleet in 11 minutes. Great day. Well sailed!
