The Myora Cup delivered a fantastic day of racing on Moreton Bay, with the fleet greeted by a solid 15-knot south-easterly that set the tone for fast and tactical sailing throughout the course. An approaching southerly front added an extra layer of excitement at the start, with winds briefly building to around 22 knots and keeping crews alert as they got underway.

The course took competitors on an anti-clockwise passage around Peel Island, allowing the fleet to take advantage of favourable tidal assistance and rewarding those who positioned themselves well early. Conditions suited crews prepared to stay on their toes, with shifting pressure and the strengthening breeze making for an engaging race across the bay.

In IRC, the Myora Cup trophy was claimed by Stratacare Racing’s Flyaway after a strong performance around the track, with Interloper finishing second and Kerb third. In PHS, “The Nathan Cup”  Broadsword delivered an impressive sail to take the win, followed by Kerb in second and Intrigue 2 in third.

Overall, it was a terrific race that showcased the fleet at its best, combining fresh conditions, tactical decision-making, and a classic Moreton Bay passage course. It was an excellent reminder of what makes the Myora Cup such a highlight on the club racing calendar.
