News just in this morning (27th June 2024) from a very chuffed dad, Andrew Stransky:
“Mara concludes her world tour claiming the silver medal at Kiel Week, the world’s biggest sailing regatta. In a thrilling medal race which Mara led until handed a yellow flag, she still finished 3rd, which was enough to topple Denmark’s Anna Munch for the silver. She returns home with a bronze medal from the Marseilles Pre-Olympic Regatta in southern France and a silver in her final regatta of the year, in northern Germany. Hats off to the Kiel Week organisers who put on race tracking, live coverage and a huge after-party. And of course congratulations, Mara Stransky!”
Greg Kemp adds that, “although Olympic selection has been done and dusted, we still have athletes competing at high level in Europe … in a strong field including the rest of the AUS women’s team (except Zoe) … Also Liam Millar and Will Bridge finished their first overseas regatta together, having made Gold Fleet, placing 21st in a fleet of 45 – a great result!”
