This years event featured a strong lineup of 25 competitors, including 5 Multihull entries which added a layer of excitement and anticipation to the races. Perfect weather conditions “for catamarans” prevailed over the two days, contributing to the overall enjoyment and success of the event. The use of the traditional course positions added a conversation point around the Bar given the prevailing Easterlies over the weekend. The two-day schedule included a variety of race formats around the laid marks, keeping tacticians engaged with different challenges and strategies.
The conclusion of the regatta was marked by a lively presentation, allowing competitors to share stories and deliver some well deserved banter. Apparently this years wind angle was in favour of Multihull racing with the Monohulls not being able to get a good run with their spinnakers. ” The Team on Gauntlet, led by skipper Peter Miliken took home both the PHS Goodwill Cup, and IRC Lord Brassey Cup which was presented by Commodore John Warlow.
Once again, the dedication of the volunteers behind the scenes ensured the smooth execution of the event, contributing to its overall success.
