WAGS REPORT
DATE: 28/6/2017
WIND: NE Light up to 8 Knts
NUMBER OF BOATS: 42
I can’t remember the last time we managed a full course. However, given the fantastic winter conditions, with clear skies, light breezes and great company there isn’t much more required on a Wednesday afternoon. The temperature was up and we all expected a slightly stronger NE breeze, but not so. Course Echo was chosen to use as much of the ebbing tide as possible to the St. Helena red via the Western Cardinal off Green Is. The fluky breeze, with holes everywhere made skippers and crew think hard. Some could have been geniuses, all for the lack of hind sight. If only! The course was shortened and provided one of the closest finishes. 3 seconds separating first and second in the mono’s and the entire fleet finishing in 12 minutes. Great to watch! Well sailed by all!
Coming Up: Ekka Wednesday – The Peter Beard Memorial Trophy
