A report by Mark Dingley – RQYS Sailing Manager

Hamilton Island Race Week 2025 was an incredible mix of competitive sailing and laid-back island fun. From top-level racing across the divisions to colourful costume parades, lively exhibitions, and plenty of evening celebrations, the 40th edition was a perfect showcase of four decades of Whitsundays magic.

My daily walk to the Committee vessel along Front Street turned into the best kind of commute – a chance to catch up with members, share a few laughs, and soak up the atmosphere. It was fantastic to see so many of our members out on the water across such a wide variety of boats, creating a real sense of community.

Congratulations to everyone who took part – what a week of sailing, friendship, and good times!
