Our young adults are back on the water of late in the RQ Elliotts fleet every Friday evening, thanks to the hard work of our new Youth Advisory Sub Committee and led by Hayden Barney.

Through his university contacts and their sailing groups, Hayden has successfully attracted a swathe of young sailors keen to return to the water, some after many years away, to enjoy Friday afternoon social sailing as the light fades over Moreton Bay.  With little encouragement, the program is quickly gaining popularity and is set to become a regular event on the RQ social calendar with some cruising, racing and the obligatory post-sail gathering in the Bistro.

If you are, of know of, a young adult with some sailing experience who is keen to get back in the water, contact the RQYS Youth Advisory Sub Committee (YASC) at yasc@rqys.com.au to get involved for just $20 for a casual sail pass.

A special mention also goes to Hugo Ralph, Sam Munro, Callum Bonaci and Chase Taylor for also volunteering their time to act as boat captains and ensure our new and returning sailors feel welcome (back) to RQYS!
