WAGS REPORT

DATE: 21/6/2017

WIND: SSW-S 5-10 KNTS

NUMBER OF BOATS: 30

Once again the forecast didn’t live up to expectations. However it turned into another perfect Brissy winters afternoon. The attempt was to reacquaint ourselves with course Charlie. It’s been some time since we have used this course (reverse Wags for some) and the days forecast lent itself towards it being good. So in a light SSE breeze it was off to Hope Banks via Lochyer Light. The latter starters sailed into a bit of a hole near Lochyer, but it slowly filled and ground was made. A few shifts made skippers think and there were a few different coursers being sailed. The run back from Hope was a bit slow, however, at the red off Green Is. the tide and hardening up on the breeze produced some good boat speed. With the finish line was in sight just south of the Western Cardinal (and slightly to windward) the monos layed the line producing many close finishers. The multis needed another tack and finished bunched on a starboard tack. Great to watch! Once again thanks to skippers who took extra crew.

Coming Up: Youth Week! Volunteers needed. If you are able to put something back into the club please contact Susie Jones.
