Big dreams for the Daunt duo!
Meet Ashlee and Brayden Daunt, our local Mixed 470 sibling duo representing Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron and the Queensland Academy of Sport. Inspired by the recent Paris 2024 Olympic Games, their eyes are set on a medal at the LA 2028 Olympic Games! The dream is to be the first Aussie sibling team to compete in the Mixed 470 event at the Olympics.
After their first season in Europe earlier this year, they are driven more than ever to continue to push boundaries on their performance and bring innovation to our sport. The 470 is a challenging and technical class which has a rich history in Australia. It is Ash and Bray’s ambition to uphold the success of this class in Australia and follow in the footsteps of some of our greatest sailors: Malcolm Page, Mathew Belcher and Will Ryan (to name a few).
