It has been a fantastic winter so far for power boating. We have experienced some dry weekends and weeks of no rain. Unfortunately, the weather is not ideal for sailing. Some Members have already departed Manly to enjoy winter in the Whitsundays. We wish them and anyone else travelling North or anywhere warmer, we wish you a safe and fair-weather trip.

Due to recent escalations in trespassing incidents, we want to advise members that RQYS has taken further steps to protect Members’ property and over the past week, we have already increased security patrols and on-site guard presence.

Starting this Friday night, we will further enhance our security presence by having security patrols accompanied by a guard dog. This measure reflects our serious commitment to the safety and security of the Squadron grounds, your vessels and property.

We strongly encourage all Members to report any suspicious activity or trespassing immediately to Police Link Policelink – Reporting | QPS and to notify us by emailing marinamanager@rqys.com.au or text 0455 103 817

Do not attempt to confront these individuals: you can always call Glen on 0455 103 817 or Dave on  0499 644 164 for assistance.

Thank you for your continued support and vigilance.

Another note to all boat owners; we experienced an unexpected power outage on Saturday night due to a high-voltage power  failure in Oceana Tce.  Please make sure to check your vessels over the weekend to ensure all your vessel’s systems have come back online.  If you are unable to get to your vessel, please call the marina office on 3393 3554 at any time, and we will be happy to assist you.
