Nominations are still open for Club Member of the Year & Volunteer Recognition Awards. This is a fantastic opportunity to acknowledge the work of and show your appreciation for your fellow members, and we encourage all our members to participate in this process. The Club Member of the Year and Volunteer ‘thank you’ night will be hosted at the Squadron on Friday 11 May 2018, so please RSVP your attendance at your convenience.

Nomination Information

The Squadron would again like to recognise those members who have especially contributed to the growth and success of the Squadron in Season 2017/18. The General Committee would like every member to be part of this process. 

A special night to say ‘thank you’ has been arranged so please reserve Friday 11 May 2018 in your diary and plan on attending this important event.

As implemented last year the process now gives every member the opportunity to be involved in nominating worthy individuals and the expanded scope allows for recognition of all types contribution to the Squadron.

Nominations will be accepted for the following category awards …

  • Marine Sports Volunteer Award – The David Virgo Trophy
  • Cruising and Navigation Volunteer Award
  • Social Events Volunteer Award
  • Member Facilities Volunteer Award
  • Special Contributor Award

All Nominations for the Category Awards who are full members are also nominations for our Major Award – The Motorline Club Member of the Year.

The Motorline Club Member of the Year will be awarded for significant contribution to any aspect of the Squadron in Season 2017/18. Significant contribution could include on water participation, individual contribution to a significant Squadron project or initiative or contribution to maintaining the Squadron’s presence in a field of excellence.

Serving Flag Officers, members of General Committee and members paid for their services in relation to the contribution will be ineligible for these awards.

How can you nominate someone?

A Nomination forms is attached or are available from the Squadron website, Reception or Administration office.

Nominations will close on Tuesday 17 April 2018.

Awards Presentation

The presentation of Club Member of the Year and the Volunteer Category will occur on Friday 11

May 2018 and it will be a night where members who have assisted the Squadron over the past year are acknowledged for their efforts.

Members, volunteers, family and partners are encouraged to attend to acknowledge the award winners and all who contribute to the success of the Squadron in so many areas.
