Dear Members
The good news is we will be out of lockdown at 6 pm tonight.
The Squadron hospitality area will re-open for normal trade tomorrow, Tuesday 12 January 2021, however some restrictions now in place will be relevant to you when visiting the Squadron and these will remain in place for 10 days until Friday 22 January.
Restrictions include:
- Masks – there is no requirement for patrons to wear a mask inside the Squadron, however they should be worn to and from the Squadron (with the exception of being in your own vehicle). Staff with direct contact to members and guests are required to wear masks.
This relaxation, of not wearing masks at the Squadron, is due to the success of Queensland clubs’ sign-in and contact tracing procedures. Therefore it is very important that all members follow procedures and ensure they are signed in when visiting the Squadron.
- Social Distancing – the return of the 1 person per 4 square metre rule will apply to inside areas (reception, auditorium, bar and functions). Please observe notices and direction from staff for number allowances.
- Eating & Drinking – Only seated eating and drinking in any area of the Squadron is permitted. Patrons may order their drinks or meals at the Bar or Cafe but you must be seated to consume either.
There are no further restrictions on Sailing or boating at the Squadron, however we remind you that the 1 person per 2 square metre rule is still in place for outdoor areas.
Sailing: the Envy Scooters Summer Regatta will definitely be going ahead this weekend however due to the implications of the current shutdown and to assist in streamlining the running of the event Sailing Committee have decided to run it as a two day regatta, this being Saturday 16 and Sunday 17, January. The cost has been reduced to compensate for the cancellation of Friday’s racing and will now be only $120 for the two days. This price will include all your racing, a regatta shirt and carry bag. So register now at https://www.rqys.com.au/envy-scooters-summer-regatta/. We would love to see you there!
