Seven vessels made their way to Canaipa on Saturday 5 October 2019. During the trip the crew prepared a meal on board before fronting a panel of three independent judges on shore. Every meal was presented to the cruising group with a matching story and the judges were faced with the difficult task of picking a winner while exercising a 70/30 weighting on food/story. Many thanks for Kevin, Grant and Vicki for carrying out this task with great skill.
Frecynet won the competition with a Paella and great story of love and nautical adventure of the Maria, the creator of Paella.
On Sunday morning the decision was taken to make Horseshoe bay the destination of choice to shelter from the forecast NW breeze. After Sundowners everyone returned to their boats to prepare for the progressive dinner which duly commenced at 6pm. One half of the vessels served main course to the other half and at 7:30 pm everyone swapped to get dessert servers by the other half of vessels. A great lot of fun was had by all with much socialising taking place on all vessels.
Sunday morning saw everyone descended upon Moonglade where fresh pancakes were on offer from 8am onwards. This was the last in the sequence of culinary delights before everyone returned back to their home berth and a week of dieting at home.
The weekend was great exhibition of the culinary skills amongst cruisers and their ability to spin a great yarn – thanks to everyone for your participation and contribution.
