Ken “Brownie” Brown OAM, the founder of “Brownie’s Coastwatch”, has a rich background with ocean and coastal activities. He grew up on the ocean – surfing, boating and fishing. Brownie is a qualified marine master and engineer, having worked for many years as a marlin fishing charter operator out of Brisbane. His practical experience and expertise in coastal life have made him a trusted source of information in the community. After 25 years of broadcasting, Brownie retired in 2021. “Brownie’s Coastwatch” remains a valuable resource for those interested in the coastal lifestyle, providing a blend of entertainment, education, and safety information.
Ken has been a “Beacon” of knowledge for Queenslanders across TV, Radio and, of course, everyone’s trusted “Beacon to Beacon” coastal directory. We welcome Ken Brown OAM as our guest speaker for RQYS’ free March Topic Talk, in the Auditorium from 7pm!
