All members will be pleased to hear that we are undertaking some much needed repair and resurfacing work to the roadway and carparks from the G/H row gangway to the Blue toilet facility. Prudent financial management during the COVID close down has given us the opportunity to now undertake this work, as a service to members and for the need to maintain our assets.

Bitumen work will commence Monday 15 June and will be completed by Thursday 25 June. Carpark restrictions, as detailed below will apply during this period:

  • From 1700 hours Sunday 14 June, the carpark from P row to the Blue toilets will not be accessible by vehicles, pedestrian access only will be via the concrete pathway on the Marina side of the carpark.
  • From 1700 hours Sunday 21 June, the roadway and carpark from the L/M row gangway to P row will not be accessible to vehicles. The pedestrian pathway along the waterfront will be available for access.
  • From 1700 hours Monday 22 June, the roadway and carpark from the G/H row gangway to L/M row will not be accessible to vehicles.
  • The above restrictions also apply to motorbikes and bicycles

Carparks and roadways will reopen once bitumen works have completed on Thursday 25 June. The following week however, between Monday 29 June to Wednesday 1 July, these areas will be individually closed off again at different times to complete fresh line marking.

To ensure the works can be completed without delay we ask all members and contractors to please not park their vehicles in these carparks from Sunday 14 June.

Due to these works being completed by a contractor, it is imperative that vehicles are not parked in these areas to allow the works to be completed. If any vehicles are parked in these carparks, we will have no option but to tow the vehicle away at the owners expense.

To assist with vehicle parking, Rigging Lawn 4 will be available as a temporary carpark and the Bill Kirby Jetty (berths 4,5 & 6) will also be made available for tender berthing to assist with the transport of people and belongings to and from your vessel during this period.

Thank you for your support during this project, it will be a significant improvement to the Squadron and we trust you will enjoy the improved road surface.
