Well what a storm!!!!!

Monday afternoon showed the real power of a QLD summer storm. I have lived in Brisbane for 45 years and have never experienced a storm as severe as the one we had here at Manly. Fortunately, to date, I have not heard of any personal injuries, which is excellent news.

Unfortunately, the Squadron has suffered widespread damage to several roofs, including the Clubhouse, sheds, and amenity blocks, and many vessels have been damaged by broken solar panels/damaged biminis, and cracking in gel coat from the size of the hail cricket balls. Several staff members and Member vehicles have broken windows and hail damage.

If you notice any damage to any vessels, vehicles or property around the squadron, please report it to either David Fisher or me, and we will action it as quickly as possible.

With the forecast of even more severe storms today and into the weekend, I encourage you all to come down and check on your vessel, check for any damage, secure all loose items, and ensure you have sufficient mooring lines in place.

Stay safe out there and look after each other if you are in a situation where you may need assistance.

Regards

Glen Scott
MARINA MANAGER
