2018 Myora Cup Navigation Event.
Last weekend the 2018 Myora Cup Navigation event had the perfect weather for a close competition in both GPS & Traditional divisions. 15 boats competed and several more came to Canaipa simply for the social event on Saturday night. This year’s courses were fairly challenging with 15 check gate in Traditional and 42 in the GPS competition. On shore at Canaipa the Powerboat Committee displayed every boats track big screen so you could get an idea on how you went before receiving the final scores at breakfast the following morning. A special thanks to Glen Battershill for taking on most of the breakfast cooking duties. Is was very pleasing to have 3 new boats compete for the first time and 8 Past Commodores attending showing their support for this traditional event.
Interestingly it was 2 Past Commodores winning the event.
• GPS competition winner – Past Commodore Denis Land on North Light
• Traditional competition winner – Past Commodore Richard Crooke on Taslander
The full results and Tack Tracker vision can be viewed on the RQYS Cruising & Navigation web pages. Clicking on the following link should take you directly to the website race.
