RQYS members Mark Hipgrave and Rohan Wood will be representing the club in this year’s Rolex Fastnet Race, starting in the Solent on Sat 26 July.

They will be sailing on Bellino, a SunFast 3600 owned by Rob Craigie. Rob normally sails double handed with current RORC commodore Deb Fish but this year they have decided to add two to the crew for the Fastnet.

Rob and Deb have achieved impressive results together, including first place in the DH Division of the 2022 Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland  Race – see here.

They have a long connection with RQYS, having competed in RSHR races with Hipgrave on his SF3600 Mister Lucky in 2017 (earning a division win) and again in 2019.

In 2022 RQYS Hipgrave and Mike Pitt, another RQYS member and SF3600 owner, joined them in Cowes to win the Sun Fast World Cup in a high quality fleet – see here.

The 2025 Rolex Fastnet race website is here and the entry list can be found here
