The night then continued on with the committee’s prepared dinner of steak, salad and apple pie with ice cream. Sunday morning was another great meal ashore where everyone enjoyed a hearty breakfast before results were announced. With such a great turn-out for the event, the top five vessels in both Traditional and GPS categories, along with the winning vessel’s navigator and the top Handicap vessel, all received a prize. Traditional 1st: “Odyssey” • Craig Black GPS 1st: “Aquamac” • P/Cdre Denis Land Past Commodores’ Cup Usually held on the third weekend in May, this time of the year always seems to be busy with many other boating activities on the go. With this in mind, we organise a family focused morning navigation event that sees competitors return to the Club for lunch and presentations. Seventeen vessels competed in this year’s event over both divisions and it was great to see the Bill Kirby VIP berths packed tight by nine vessels after the event. While the more than 100 crew and guests from the competition vessels enjoyed the bistro meals, cold drinks and reflected on an enjoyable morning on the Bay, results were calculated by Scott Anderson and Chris Land. The top three vessels in Traditional and GPS and the top Handicap vessel were all awarded prizes.
