RQYS MAINSHEET 2024

Renewed temptations to come in 2025 With the Manly renovations now passing astern, it’s time to look to the future with refreshed appetites and gusto! We are deeply honoured to be part of the rich history of the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron, writes The Consortium Qld’s Peta Prestidge, noting that “we’re proud to continue enhancing the Club’s hospitality as we enter another year together” with an array of opportunities and offerings expanded on completion of the buiding works. Over the past 12 months, our team has made great strides in improving the RQYS hospitality experience at RQYS, working through the disruption of the extensive renovations, and we’re excited about the updated spaces that are ready to host Member events and private functions. Our journey has been one of progress and growth, and we’re thrilled by the positive impact these changes are set to make! The RQYS Bistro has always been a warm and lively space, nestled by the harbour and bustling with activity and, now, the completed renovations have enhanced dining options with expanded table service to the new booth banquettes. Open seven days a week from 7am, our doors are open for early risers with tasty breakfast options, continuing throughout the day with a varied menu featuring everything from favourite ‘bar classics’ to the latest creations by our Head Chef, with menus that celebrate Queensland’s finest local produce while preserving the casual feel of familiar favourites. With fresh faces joining the team, we’re strengthening our commitment to service excellence. The past year has seen some memorable moments, from intimate weddings to lively private celebrations, each adding to the rich tapestry of life at RQYS. We are honoured to have played a part in your special occasions in our first year and look forward to continue creating unforgettable experiences for you. The Opening Day of the 140th Sailing Season was a resounding success, bringing together Members, families and visitors from the wider community, and we have a wealth of ideas to make future events just as impactful. Feedback from Members has been our guiding star, helping us shape the direction of our offerings as we move forward. Looking ahead, we’re excited to unveil new campaigns for weddings and private functions in the beautifully refurbished spaces. These enhancements, paired with our dedication to quality across the board, mean that we’re poised to elevate the standards of service and hospitality at RQYS. Members’ support is invaluable to us. We encourage you to take advantage of our weekday specials, explore the expanded takeaway drinks listings (now available to order online) and immerse yourself in the events we create especially for Squadron Members and friends. As relative newcomers to RQYS’s longstanding traditions, we’re still learning what makes this Club so special, from the cherished tables that Members have reserved for decades to the camaraderie that unites our community. Whether you’re stopping by for breakfast, lunch, or one of our evening events, your satisfaction remains our compass, and we welcome your positive feedback to help drive further improvements. Here’s to the future, to unforgettable moments, and to making the RQYS hospitality experience one of which you’re proud to be part. We look forward to serving you and creating even more memorable moments together. Bon Appétit and fair winds. n Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron Yearbook Mainsheet 2024 25 Hospitality Report
