Topic Talks with RQYS Members James & Sally Crowley on their South Pacific Cruising Adventures

In March this year RQYS members James and Sally Crowley embarked on a lifetime dream for many to sail the South Pacific. Their travels on “Sassafras” took them over 6000nm and 6 months. Crossing the Tasman to Opua, New Zealand then Tonga via Minerva Reef, onward to Fiji then Vanuatu and finally home from Luganville, passing south of Chesterfield reefs. Preparation, navigation, communication, provisioning, passage planning, long passages, physical and mental challenges, stunning scenery and amazing experiences were all part of the adventure. You are invited to hear their experiences and share in their insights into what makes a successful cruising season for the adventurous.
