Boardwalk Café specials

On Thursday 20 December the dinner Boardwalk Café special is:
Prawn and summer fruit salad with lime and palm sugar dressing $17.50.

On Thursday 20 and Friday 21 December we have a lunch special:
One dozen Pacific Oysters topped with smoked salmon, baby spinach and hollandaise $16.

An exciting new summer menu will be starting this Friday night.

Please note the Boardwalk Café will be closed on Christmas Day but open on Boxing Day, Wednesday 26 December.

Boardwalk Pavilion entertainment

On Sunday 23 December from 4pm–6pm we will be treated to the hauntingly beautiful folk-esque music of Jessie Warren. Jessie performs under her stage name Carry Nation. Hailing from Brisbane, Jessie now lives and creates in Melbourne. Her album 'Like A River Does' was released in 2010 through Brisbane label El Nino El Nino. Why not come down to the Squadron, have a coffee or a wine, watch the sunset over the marina and enjoy Jessie's music. Bookings 3396 8666.

Aloha Friday – Members draw

On Friday 14 December, the members draw was valued at $650. Member number 778 was drawn. Unfortunately Lindsay Wall was not in attendance to collect the prize.

Next week's jackpot will be $700.

Remember: you must be onsite at the Squadron to take home the cash. You do not want to miss your chance, so why not call in this Friday night between 7pm – 8pm to be in the running.
The Weekly Attendance draw is also up for grabs – win a $50 cafe voucher every Friday night.

No WAGS on Boxing Day

Please note the regular WAGS race will not be sailing on Boxing Day (26 December). However, there will be a special one-start race at 2.30pm. Why not come on down to the RQ bar, watch the start of the Sydney-Hobart from about 11.30am (race starts 12.00), have lunch and go sailing for the afternoon!

Please also note that Trivia has been cancelled for tonight. The next Trivia night will be in January 2013.

Mystery bank transfer

We have received a bank transfer of funds with no reference provided. The funds were deposited to our account on the 6 December for $776.44 and the only reference used was ‘Half yrly charges’. If you transferred funds on this date please contact Peter Coddington, Financial Controller. You will need to provide some form of verification. Please make sure you include an identifiable reference (your name and Member number) when making bank transfers.

Jessica Watson at Sail and Play

Jessica will be at RQYS on Monday 7 January 2013 at 9.30am to meet and greet young sailors at Sail and Play. Don’t miss out on a chance to meet Jessica – book with the Sailing Academy now!

Boat Ramp over Holiday Period

All members please be aware that RQYS will be hosting two National Championships this summer between 28th December and 6th January. Due to this, there may be a delay in launching and retrieving at the main ramp between the hours of 10am – 5pm.
It is asked that members follow the directions of volunteer ramp supervisors who are responsible for ease of congestion. The ramp adjacent to the Marina Office is available to members as an alternative.
