Ramps
The Squadron has three ramps. The Western ramp is used by the Sailing School. The Middle ramp is used primarily as the main access for dinghy classes and can be used for the launching and retrieving of trailer boats. Some difficulty with trailer boats may be encounted at low tide and during busy racing days. The Eastern ramp ‘all tide ramp’ may be used for launching and retrieval of trailerable boats. However, if you intend to use this ramp be aware it is accessed through the marina hardstand area and launching and retrieving should not interfere with work within this area. There will be times when this ramp is not available as one of its main uses is for slipping of multihulls on cradles that cannot be travelifted.
Even though the ramps are cleaned regularly, caution should always be exercised on ramps as they can be slippery. Children should not be allowed to play on the ramps.
On race days a ramp marshall may control traffic on the middle ramp. Skippers and crews should obey any direction given by a ramp marshall.
Boats should be hosed down on the concrete apron at the head of each ramp and not on the lawns. Salt water quickly damages lawn areas.
