What is it?

A sailing squad especially setup for the RQ Opti Sailors to get together, train, race and have fun!

Who is it for?

Any RQ member is an Opti Sailor who is ready has moved up from the Green Fleet

When is it?

The Opti Racer Squad has had a calendar put together for the Summer
Season, this includes:

Thursday Night Training
1600 to Dark

Saturday Training/ Racing
0900 to 1200 Training & 1300 – 1600 Racing 1-2 Races

We have also joined forces with Southport Yacht Club where we will travel down once a month to their yacht club and join in their races, and they will come up here once a month to join in our racing.

There are also separate QIODA camps which we are going to encourage the squad to attend as a group. These are usually a fun weekend where the kids stay at the yacht club and have a weekend of training.

For the above events, RQ would help arrange transport for the group sharing trailers and cars, meaning not every parent has to drive to all the events, if we can share the transport between everyone it would help be a lot easier.

RQ where possible will also take a coach boat to these events.

What does it cost?

We have put together a cost of $160.00 per month. This covers the cost for both Thursday and Saturday training sessions. This works out to be $20 per session and covers coach fees, coach boat hire. Or $15 per week for Thursdays and $30 per week for Saturdays.

What do I get?

Weekly coaching and training to enable you to be the best Opti Sailor in Australia. Giving you the chance to travel with your sailing, make good friends, have competitive race.
