Marine Drivers License
Overview:
This course is for everyone wishing to obtain their “boat licence” to drive a powerboat. All students must be over the age of 16 in order to participate in the course. The RQYS Recreational Marine Drivers Licence course is a Nationally Recognised License Course. At its completion, students receive a BoatSafe certificate which they can present to Queensland Transport, where their license can be issued. Students complete a range of tasks whilst under helm allowing them to become familiar with the boats and boating procedures. They also acquire the required knowledge of Queensland’s marine regulations to be a competent skipper.

- Safety Equipment and how to use it
- Navigation
- All aspects of anchoring
- Trip planning
- Managing emergencies
- Weather and tides
- Engine and boat maintenance
