The Club Marine Brisbane to Keppel Tropical Yacht Race is one of RQYS\’s two signature offshore yacht races, and will deliver competitors to the wonderful destination of Keppel Bay, in time to start the short passage to the Whitsundays for Airlie Beach Race Week and Hamilton Island Race Week.
The Brisbane to Keppel Tropical Yacht Race has made its mark as one of Australia’s premier coastal races. The 2017 fleet achieved a best to date entry list of 35 boats entered, and in 2019 with short-handed and cruising divisions available, along with the addition of the Stage prizes for PHS, there has never been a better year to get on board and enjoy the trip north towards the North Queensland Regattas (Airlie Beach Race Week, Hamilton Island Race Week and Magnetic Island Race Week).
In 2018, Andrew Wiklund’s ‘CRANKSTER’ Farr 40 produced a notable result as she took out 1st place in Division 1 IRC, IRC Overall and ORCi, as well as winning the 3rd Stage in PHS and placing 4th overall in PHS. The Division 0 fleet consisted of 8 boats, including two TP 52s – Vice Commodore Barry Cuneo’s ‘ENVY SCOOTERS’ and ‘GWEILO’ from CYCA belonging to Chris Townsend and Matt Donald.
We look forward to seeing you on the startline on Friday, 02 August 2019.
